BLOG 34 Scouts, Naval Friends, College Friends, Quite Unusual Girlfriend

(Did not have proper picture of girlfriend)

(Allowed to live my own life)

Hopefully, by now my blog followers have learned many surprising things about me. But, let me say I have been a child advocate since thirteen. I am a people person (everyone that come across your path can teach you something and vice-versa). I love life like scouting, Red Cross, and other things I can teach people. I raised myself and did what I had to do in High School to change my stars. People typecast you with no idea of the truth. I am a Christian. The stories that I have told you happened for a reason. You might consider me bisexual, gay, or confused, but God was watching over me throughout it all. And, mostly, I am very friendly and it kills me when I feel or find out that someone does not like me. I would rather have common sense than smarts. And there is ALWAYS new adventures and incidences that happen for you to learn.

(My college Spanish class friends)

Because my Spanish class was at night, there were only about twelve of us. We became very good friends, five became great friends and partied many times after class. Two of these people became very close to me. Lena and Elaine were their names. They loved to dance, and Lena (pictured above),  could dance very well and I loved dancing with her because she could clear the floor during a song and here is this white boy (who could not dance well) being watched by all! She was fantastic, even though she would be considered overweight. The best thing was the fact that she was fifty years old in that picture. If she is still alive, she would be in her nineties now! I would love to receive a return response on my website, Facebook, etc.

Sand Diego gave me a true awakening about different lifestyles. Everyone blended and was accepted for who they were and not what things you could give. To go to a restaurant, you would see an array of people and dress styles. Cocktail attire, shirt and shorts, or whatever, everyone was accepted for the most part. So, when one night after class, two of the guys,(who were openly a couple), offered to pay for our drinks if we went to a specific gay club. It was no surprise we said yes. When we got there, within the first five minutes, a civilian that I did a lot of work with at the hospital approached me and said, “WOW, Dallas, I never thought that you were into this type of lifestyle!” I immediately grabbed Elaine’s hand and said “I’m not! We are here with our college class.” Suddenly one of them said, “And we own this bar!!” My jaw dropped to the floor and the embarrassed friend said, “I’m so sorry to have assumed!” We drank very hardy that night, and we danced until our feet gave out.

(Scout Life)

When  I arrived in San Diego, I immediately called the Regional Scout office to find a scout troop  that needed adult help, and to sign up for a regional merit badge councilor. I taught first aid, emergency preparedness,   cooking, swimming, life guarding, and qualified to train National Boy Scout Life Guards. I got a call within the week to the scout troop in Kensington. We hit it off great. The troop had over 30 active boys and over fifty enlisted. They made me an Assistant Scoutmaster and a Patrol Adviser .(pictured above).

This was September, in March they gave me a plaque and then surprised me with a birthday cake. It was a special night. Another  funny thing happen when I took my patrol on a trip to Rosarita, Mexico for the weekend at the beach. One of the boys’ father had a beach house that he let us stay at. We practiced merit badges and just had fun. The smallest boy in the patrol came up just above my hips. He did not know how to swim, and the beach was not the place to teach him, so he and I took a walk on the beach and rocks. We took our shoes off (no socks), I rolled up my jeans and we headed off. It was great because the waves would roll over our legs and we found rocks, and we talked.

Suddenly, I looked further in the ocean and noticed a wave that was getting larger than the others. It just kept getting larger and I could not get us out of the way in time. So, I yelled, “Give me your shoes and hang on to my leg tight!” He was bent over looking at a rock.  I reached down. grabbed his shoes with one hand and pulled him up with his other hand and yelled again to grab my leg tight and hold his breath. WHOOSH! The wave was higher than me so I raised our shoes up as high as I could and I wrapped my free arm around him. He was holding on very tight and I did my best to balance us on the rock we were standing on. After it was over, he was huffing and puffing, but laughing. I was drenched as well and was laughing, also. I saved us from being washed out in the ocean, AND kept our shoes dry!!!!!!( I have more stories of the scouts, but I will save them for after I returned to San Diego after Nuclear Medicine School.

(Meeting my nymphomaniac girlfriend)

I did not have a decent picture to show you, just believe me that she was a beautiful, endowed, Hispanic woman. I met here at my first Christmas vacation home. I was on my way back home and I got a seat next to her and she was crying. We began talking and found out we both were in the Navy and based in San Diego. Her mother was sick and she was afraid she was not going to be there for her. We talked the entire flight. I was infatuated with her. So much, I felt I was not her type. As we got our luggage, she asked were we going to exchange phone numbers? I asked if she would really go out with me? She just said, “I guess you will have to call me to find out!” I called her the next day and very surprisingly, she said she would go out with me.

We picked the next night, and I was apartment sitting for a friend. We went to the movies and saw, “Taps”, with Timothy Hutton. Then we went to a nice restaurant where I was surprised again! We ordered drinks, and since I was twenty, and probably looked it, the waiter asked her for an ID. She thanked him and when he handed it back to her, HE apologized! Bewildered, I took the ID from her and wide-eyed I said, “Are you really THIRTY?” And she smiled and asked how old did I think she was and I replied twenty-two or three. She asked for mine and when I showed her, she said, “Well, I guess I am cradle robbing!”

I needed to go to my friend’s apartment and she suggested getting some wine and she would go with me……………(to be continued!………..
