(The girl, not the clown!)

I was a horrible boyfriend, This is at Six Flags on the day of the Junior Prom. I convinced my girlfriend that we could have a great full day at Six Flags, instead of a few hours at a Prom, for the same price or cheaper. You see I won, but I’m sure I ruined her dreams of the Prom. We did have a great day, but I never forgave myself for doing that.

(A secret about Darrell)

In my last trimester of 10th grade, during the last week for the seniors, I was getting rumors that my brother, Darrell, was going to fail. I told you earlier that Darrell was extremely lazy when it came to school. Many times just missing school entirely.  Plus, the teachers had problems with him in class making noises,(even snoring). He was not teacher’s favorite!

I went to the teacher that was failing him. She was going to be having me in class my Senior year, and she knew that I was a good student. First, I tried the begging trick and she would not have any of it. I even tried promising to work double hard in her class when I had her. But, still no budging her.

Finally, I tried reverse psychology. After she told things he did in class that she considered unbearable, I assured her that Darrell definitely would not go to summer school, and would be just as happy coming back to school to HER class again. At the time, she said if he preferred that then so be it.

A few classes later, I saw her running down the hall pretty quick. By the the end of the day, Darrell told me that the teacher had “found a test that Darrell never got credit for and it just happened to be an ‘A’ which was enough credit to change his grade from an ‘F’ to a ‘D’ and he deserved to graduate. My brother never knew I pleaded for his mercy and I really do believe that the teacher gave it a second thought of having him in her class again!

(Being the only driver in the home.)

Again, I have to tell on Darrell for this to make sense. When he was a Sophomore , he took driver’s education class 3 times and failed all of them ONLY because the classes were at 7am and he would not get up and go!! So, he decided to wait until he was 18 and he could just take the test and driving course. He knew he could pass it, but my father refused to let him drive until he got his license. Of course, I got my trainer’s license at 15, and my real license at 16. (Remember, I had already been driving for 3 years.)

This was the beginning years that my mother’s health started interfering my life. If she felt she needed to go to the emergency room, my father would refuse to take her and my brother, Bill could instantly come up with a reason why he could not take her. My dad would never let her call an ambulance because it was too expensive due to how many times she felt she had to go or she would die, only to be sent back home.

This left me being the only person she could get to take her. I would be called out of class (as an emergency) to take her to the hospital. Without going through her illnesses, all I say is this became a habit. It did not affect my 10th grade, but as I will tell you soon, it demolished my 11 Grade.

    1. After High school, you will really start being shocked, hopefully, happy at times, and very confused. That is what makes for good reading anyway!

    2. Thanks for being such a great supporter. Even, though he is my nemesis of many stories, know I miss and love him dearly!
